History

San Pancho is a small town full of history. Before the Spanish arrived, it was a community of native habitants, including the Huicholes and Coras.

In 1524 a Spanish militar named the town San Francisco in honor of the catholic saint San Francisco de Asis, protector of nature and animals.

Food

San Pancho offers a wide array of exceptional culinary options.

The experience begins at Ciyé Hotel: When you book with us, we'll pamper you with a delicious petit dejeuner delivered right to your room. If you prefer, enjoy it in our restaurant for a variety of vacation-perfect dishes, such as our signature Ciyé Egs or Banana Pancakes.

On a day at the pool, be sure to try the best snacks at Amapa Bistro: tuna carnitas, the Pamplona baguette, mini burgers, or fish tacos.

Relaxation by the sea: While enjoying the beach, we suggest trying the avocados stuffed with tuna paired with a sparkling wine from Olivas. Don't forget to try the nachos; their touch of jalapeño in every bite is addictive.

Local food tour: For regional flavors, La Perla (right on the beach) is a must-visit, especially for its shrimp empanadas. Before heading out, the tuna tostadas and the gobernador taco at El Barracuda are must-try stops. If you're looking for something more sophisticated, we recommend Pezetarian; their tuna tartare, octopus carpaccio, and desserts are delicious.

Italian Nights and Sunsets: If you're looking for romance, the lasagna at Dolce Jardin is the perfect choice. For a more relaxed atmosphere with authentic pizzas, Trattoria Toscana is the ideal spot. End the day at Cantina Ciyé with a refreshing Hugo Spritz while admiring the sunset.
